Overview
I moderated a study examining how ambient visual cues in dynamic VR environments affect time management during group decision-making tasks. Participants acted as an HR team selecting a job candidate in a simulated hiring exercise using VR headsets.
Our team designed a VR meeting platform—a moving barge—that uses ambient cues from a changing landscape to help teams manage time more effectively.

Hypothesis

Ambient cues in a moving VR environment will reduce "time-talk" and enhance time management.
Project Setup
Participants: Senior college students with basic VR experience.
Tools: Mozilla Hubs for VR, Blender for 3D assets, OBS for recordings.
Environment: A moving VR barge provided ambient time cues during transitions.

Practice phase of the VR activity.
Study Flow
Preparation: Participants joined Zoom for instructions and setup.
VR Activity:
 • Defined key hiring skills.
 • Reviewed resumes with shared and unique details.
 • Collaborated to select the best candidate.
Debrief: Completed interviews and surveys on Zoom.
